I create Fine Art Ceramics using various techniques to make intimately sized vessels of delicate simplicity.

Each piece is bisque-fired, then carefully hand-painted with underglazes, oxides and engobes before a final firing.

Inspired by the loose and succinct quality of Chinese painting, along with the influence of the wild North Pennine landscape in which I live, I experiment with different effects of layering, mark-making and colour diffusion using ceramic forms that have a clean, sculptural beauty.
