After working at the Thorndike Theatre, Leatherhead for several years, where as the Wardrobe supervisor she made costumes for period and contemporary productions for the Thorndike and West End shows.
With her interests in rock climbing, walking and the outdoors, she moved to Sheffield where she decided to incorporate her interest in nature and historical costumes with Jewellery.
Having had no formal training in Jewellery and silversmithing, Sally was able to develop her own style without the restrictions of how things are supposed to be done! She designs and makes unique pieces using silver, gold, and semi-precious and precious gemstones. Her style can be described as organic, she reticulates the surface of the metal (a method of texturing) which gives her Jewellery its recognised natural character..
In recent years, Sally has experimented by creating sculptures from silver....
After 30 years in business Sally has sold her jewellery throughout Great Britain at numerous shops, galleries and craft fairs. Though she has recently decided to only sell directly to customers at a few select craft shows. This decision will enable Sally to make more unique pieces and undertake more individual commissions.
