I design and hand make contemporary precious metal jewellery to ‘celebrate simplicity’ to my own ever-changing designs. Making each piece individually, without use of casting, gives me the freedom to explore all sorts of ideas that come to me as I work.
Living in the country, nature inevitably is a major influence on my work, principally in the simple lines that nature uses. Wave forms also intrigue me. However, when making items for people to wear I am always aware of making comfortable items as I know how little I will wear irritating or uncomfortable jewellery. This is particularly applicable in my bangles, making the self-locking silver bangles to fit directly onto the wrist and to echo the shape of individual wrists, and with the solid bangles, generally with 9ct rose gold or 18ct yellow gold features, I frequently make bespoke bangles to fit as closely as possible on individual wrists whilst fitting over the knuckles.
I love using mixed metals and these are where I explore textures the most. Whilst hammered and lace-textured finishes are the most used I try lots of different textures, some just for one or two pieces, others become a favourite and turn up on silver pieces too. I also make a small range of 9ct pieces and am happy to make most designs in silver, 9 or 18ct gold.
I can take special orders for Christmas up to Saturday 5th December. All larger items bear a hallmark
